Ice day?

So, Houston has been having some uncharectaristically cold weather. After the holiday on Monday, there was the possibility for an ice day on Tuesday. Normally, I'm all for days off, but I was really hoping this one wouldn't happen. "What's wrong with a free day," you might ask. Nothing, really. I just have this week scheduled out carefully since I'm going to be away (first time to have a sub) on Friday at an AP conference. (Speaking of AP. The AP audit is fodder for another post.) I have all of my classes scheduled to be testing on Friday. Our school is on an A/B block schedule so I wasn't sure if missing, say, Tuesday would mean I would be testing on Monday instead of Friday. I really didn't want that to happen. I don't know what I would have my students do with a sub. Suffice it to say, I was probably the only person at the school hoping for dry roads.

I ended up prevailing on the weather gods and they only hit us with freakishly cold weather. (I left Chicago, why does it's weather still torment me?!) I found out later that whatever day (A or B) we missed would just be skipped and made up later, so my worries were unfounded.

Here's hoping for an ice day tomorrow.
